Explore the regions

Three regions, three moods

Forts and deserts, the foothills of the Himalaya, and the heartland of the Ganga — each with its own pace.

Forts, lakes & desert dunes

Our home ground — a land of hill forts, lake palaces and golden sand, where every town has a story and a table to sit at.

Experiences

What a day actually feels like

Dawn temples, family courtyards, fire-baked bread and camels at dusk — the moments we build each journey around.

Rajasthan in a moment

Did you know?

Rajasthan is full of surprises, quirky facts and stories you might not expect. Flick through the cards to discover something new.

A wall you can walk for miles

The wall around Kumbhalgarh Fort runs for about 36 km along the Aravalli ridge — one of the longest fort walls in the world, wide enough for several horses to ride side by side.

Why VishalYatra

A journey that feels like a friend planned it.

Most itineraries are built from a catalogue. Ours are built from people — the guide who grew up below the fort, the driver who knows which dhaba does the best chai, the family who will feed you dinner.

  • 1

    Local by birth

We grew up in Chittorgarh. Every place we send you, we have walked, eaten in and slept in ourselves.

  • 2

People you meet before you land

Your guide, driver and hosts are named, photographed and introduced in advance. No strangers at the airport.

  • 3

    A pace that fits you

Fewer stops, longer stays. We plan around dawn light, family meals and rest — not a checklist.

The wall of Kumbhalgarh winding along the Aravalli ridge

Udaipur & Kumbhalgarh

Ten days chasing golden light

I came for the photography and stayed for the people. Rohit met us at the airport with a sign and a bottle of water, and by the second morning it felt like travelling with a friend. The highlight was the Kumbhalgarh wall at sunset — we walked a stretch of it almost alone, with the whole Aravalli range turning amber. The dal baati dinner with Kavita’s family in Chittorgarh was the meal of the trip.

Rippled sand dunes near Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer

Three generations in the desert

Travelling with my parents and a teenager is never simple, but the pace was perfect. The camel ride at dusk had my mother laughing like a girl, and the fort at Jaisalmer was unlike anything we had seen. The dune camp had proper beds and hot showers — a relief for the grandparents — and the folk music around the fire went on well past bedtime.

Jaipur

A solo week in Jaipur

As a solo woman I was nervous, so I asked a lot of questions before booking. I knew my driver’s name, his photo and his story before I landed — that made all the difference. Amber Fort early in the morning, chai in the old city with Meenakshi, and a rooftop dinner facing Hawa Mahal. I felt looked after without ever feeling watched.

Our children still talk about the camel ride and the cooking class. Everything was arranged, but never felt scripted.

Perfect for a first visit

Three days was just right. Amber Fort early, chai in the old city and dinner facing Hawa Mahal. As a solo woman I felt completely looked after.

The best-planned trip we have taken

Every detail was handled — the driver, the guide, the hotels. The Kumbhalgarh sunset walk was unforgettable, and the family dinner in Chittorgarh made the trip personal.

The most relaxing city in India

Give it at least two nights. The lake, the palaces and the rooftop dinners are as good as they look.

Slow, warm and beautifully paced

We were nervous about long drives, but the pace was gentle and the stops were well chosen. Rohit’s stories at Chittorgarh were worth the trip on their own.
