About Udaipur
Marble palaces on the edge of Lake Pichola, a working old town of lanes, workshops and rooftop cafés, and the gentlest pace of any city in Rajasthan. We give Udaipur time — a sunset boat, a morning at the City Palace before the crowds, and an evening cooking with a host family.

Traveller stories

Udaipur & Kumbhalgarh
I came for the photography and stayed for the people. Rohit met us at the airport with a sign and a bottle of water, and by the second morning it felt like travelling with a friend. The highlight was the Kumbhalgarh wall at sunset — we walked a stretch of it almost alone, with the whole Aravalli range turning amber. The dal baati dinner with Kavita’s family in Chittorgarh was the meal of the trip.

Give it at least two nights. The lake, the palaces and the rooftop dinners are as good as they look.
