Lakeside Udaipur, the great wall of Kumbhalgarh and the fort of Chittorgarh
The shape of the trip
Five unhurried days through the heart of Mewar: lakeside Udaipur, the great wall of Kumbhalgarh, the marble pillars of Ranakpur and the fort of Chittorgarh — with one driver and one guide who stay with you throughout.
Mewar is where Rajasthan’s story of courage and craft is easiest to read. This journey moves slowly from the lakes of Udaipur into the Aravalli hills and onto the plateau of Chittorgarh, where our own story began.
Every day is short on driving and long on moments: a sunset boat, a marble temple, a wall you can walk for miles, and dinner in a family courtyard.

Every detail was handled — the driver, the guide, the hotels. The Kumbhalgarh sunset walk was unforgettable, and the family dinner in Chittorgarh made the trip personal.

We were nervous about long drives, but the pace was gentle and the stops were well chosen. Rohit’s stories at Chittorgarh were worth the trip on their own.

The forts and lakes were spectacular. The drive from Kumbhalgarh to Chittorgarh is long, but Bhanwar made it comfortable with well-timed stops.
